Overall I really like version 2. The only issue I'm having is that the "Clear Sheet" button causes an error in OpenOffice while version 1 works perfectly.
Here's the error: A Scripting Framework error occured while running the Basic script vnd.sun.star.script:Standard.Clear_Basics_New?language=Basic&location=document. Message: The following Basic script could not be found: library: 'Standard' module: 'Clear_Basics_New' method: '' location: 'document'
I'm working on a multi-platform (windows, os x, linux) char gen application if you want to join forces. If not, I had a couple design questions for you if you don't mind.
You sir, sandersn, are a excel god amongst freeloading boys (and girls). I have no idea what exactly motivates you to keep producing such ridiculously useful tools but I hope there is still some of it out there.
Even if you never update this spreadsheet again, thank you so much. I am just getting into 4e from 2.5e (been out of the loop for a while) and I am so confused about everything. There are so many new rules and concepts and so much more fine tuning that I feel I can't keep up. This spreadsheet has given me a bit of hope that I might understand how my character works before I start a campaign with buddies this summer.
Thank you again.
Oh and I am on a mac, so this is amazingly valuable.
I find your charsheet to be vastly superior to the char builder. a) it is customizable for homebrew races, classes, etc. b) it is easier to use and doesn't need web access c) the output is nicer and cleaner.
I thought you might like to know that there may be a resurgence in your awesome spreadsheet due to a discussion on the D&D forums (http://bit.ly/arbevY).
I'd offer to help but I've tried adding stuff to your sheet and have only been partially successful. But once I actually know what I'm doing I'll be glad to chip in. Especially since I can't afford DDI and could really use a Character Builder alternative.
Also, I didn't notice until after I posted this the first time, but kitusnegami up there (and on WotC's forums) is also me.

Looking great so far

you abandon this project?
Still being worked on, but a little less actively. The D&D Insider tools really killed some of my motivation.
The D&D Char Builder is really good... and it makes me feel redundant.
Um until they have the custom ability and mac support you do, you have a superior product

Don't let it get you down!
I am planning on continuing the development of this spreadsheet. It just takes time and I've had a lot going on.
